INTERSTELLAR

Interstellar was considered the most appropriate name as its literal definition is “ adjective

Astronomy. situated or occurring between the stars” It is literally the stuff that exists between the stars. What better way to bring together exquisite, exciting and talented live performers who are stars . We are the glue that holds it all together.

What do we do? We produce , unique,theatrical, performer driven circus performances. Whether it be stage shows, kids shows, festival cabaret shows, street theatre shows, walkabout performance, roving performances, fire shows and venue production. As well as promoting and producing shows and events in Bristol.

We also make costumes, create choreography and design stage sets and decor.

We Produce Ensemble Fire Shows

working with the best in the Uk performing business. Including the first ever show for Arcadia Spectacular at the Glade Festival 2009. Interstellar produced the fire performers for the Hell Stage in Glastonbury Festivals, Shangri La field for 3 years 2012 to 2015. We also produced Fire Shows for the Invisible Circus legendary Carneyville Shows at the Old Fire and Police Station in Bristol .

We produce Circus Cabaret Shows

Through the Glade Festival Interstellar started working with Malcolm Haynes on a venue names the Pussy Parlur. It was one of the early festival venues which was encased in a traditional Spiegel Tent. Over four years Interstellar produced over 50 shows from 2005 to 2008. Festival credits are, The Isle oF Wight Festival, Beautiful Days Festival, Glastonbury Festival Dance Village as well as The Glade Festival .Then produced a run of shows for the Pussy Parlur in Brighton for the Fringe Festival May 2009.

Interstellar were invited to Produce shows in Edinburgh for the Fringe in 2014 with the Big Fat Sexy Circus. We were doing nightly shows five nights a week for three weeks. Which steadily grew an audience to standing room only.

We have been working along side Roo of Foolish Rogues on producing Circus and Cabaret at the Noisily Festival for the last 4 years. ( not including 2020 for obvious Covid reasons) Where we run a stage with performance based programming from mid day till mid night each day. Including, street shows, dance, spoken word, interactive dance classes, cabaret shows and fire shows.

The Shindig Festival has been running since 2014, we at Interstellar have been an integral part of the festival as it has grown from a few hundred guests to over 12,000 people. we have produced a circus cabaret show each year except one. To great success. Bringing a quirky family friendly show in the Nautilicious Tent. The whole venue produced by Fluffee the Cabaret show , produced by Ms Merlin. This is a great way to bring our friends and family together and celebrate some talented and skilful ambassadors of Circus.

We produce walkabout performance

We love performance work of all kinds and especially interactive, roving and walkabout. Interstellar booked all the roving performance for the Glade Festival for 7 years. Also the Glade area at the Glastonbury Festival for 3 years from 2010 to 20012. Working with stilt walkers, bicycle rickshaw drivers, circus skills and workshops. And one of our favourite things ever LAST AID. A comedy medical roving performance. Which will get its own page one day.

We produce Aerial Performance

Loving circus as a medium to create, aerial performance is utterly awe inspiring and such a goal to produce. Audience impact is immeasurable.

We have produced a number of aerial performance shows specifically, as well as adding aerial to cabaret shows. Within that , high wire walking, Chinese pole performances, slack rope, harness and bungee work are all elements we have produced.

We have been at it a while. We know what to do. We have one of the best address books, filled with Guinness World record holding sword swallowers to stilt walking fairies.

Interstellar have recently spent the Summer of 2021 producing Circus, Drag and Fire Cabaret shows for pop up venue at Bristol harbour side - Outer Space Bristol.
